Cyrodiil

Cyrodiil is the homeland of the Imperial people. It is roughly in the center of the Tamriel continent and is bordered by Hammerfell to the northwest, Skyrim to the north, Morrowind to the northeast, the Black Marsh to the southeast, Elsweyr to the south, Valenwood to the southwest, and the Abecean Sea to the west. The currency of Cyrodiil is the Septim sometimes referred to as the drake.

Cyrodiil's capital is the Imperial City, located on the City Isle in the center of Lake Rumare. Cyrodiil also has eight other major cities:

Cyrodiil is divided in to numerous geographical regions. Each has flora and fauna common to its area and each region has a distinctive look.
- Blackwood – East of Leyawiin.
- Colovian Highlands – North of Chorrol.
- Gold Coast – West of Kvatch.
- The Great Forest – West of the Imperial City.
- The Heartlands – North of the Imperial City.
- Jerall Mountains – North of Bruma.
- Niben Bay – East of Bravil.
- Nibenay Valley – South of the Imperial City.
- Valus Mountains – East of Cheydinhal.
- West Weald – East of Skingrad.

Most of the cities and towns are interconnected by major roads. The following are a few of the major roads surrounding Imperial City:
- Red Ring Road – Surrounds Lake Rumare and provides access to the Imperial City
- Black Road – West from the Red Ring Road to Chorrol.
- Blue Road – East from the Red Ring Road to Cheydinhal.
- Gold Road – Southwest from the Red Ring Road to Skingrad.
- Green Road – South from the Red Ring Road to Bravil.
- Orange Road – Between Chorrol and Bruma, it connects the Black Road and Silver Road.
- Silver Road – North from the Red Ring Road to Bruma.
- Yellow Road – Southeast from the Red Ring Road to Leyawiin.

- The country of Cyrodiil has been ruled by the Septim bloodline since the reign of Tiber Septim, although Chancellor Ocato is working as the stand in ruler, as no known Septim is alive. In the ages long ago Cyrodiil was inhabited by the Ayleids, heartland High Elves who left behind ruins across Cyrodiil.
